How to make tofu dumplings

  • For 9 meatballs:
  • 125 grams of fresh tofu
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 100 grams of mushrooms
  • 50 grams of breadcrumbs
  • 25 grams of sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Chopped parsley
  • Soy sauce
  • Salt
  • Flour
  • Ground black pepper
  • Olive oil

Steps to follow to make this recipe:

One.The first step we must do to prepare the tofu meatballs is to crumble the tofu with our hands. If we do not feel like getting stained, we can choose to use a kitchen utensil such as a wooden spoon or a fork that will help us create a tofu paste.

Two.Next, we will prepare the sauce for our vegetarian meatballs; to do this, we must clean and chop the carrot and onion. We will put a jet of oil to heat in a pan and, when it is hot, we will add these ingredients so that they fry for about 10 minutes. Then add the mushrooms, also chopped, and sauté everything for a couple of minutes.

3.When the sauce is ready, we remove it from the heat and pour it into a container where we will also add the crumbled tofu. Here we will also have to add the rest of the ingredients: the breadcrumbs, the parsley, the minced garlic clove, the sesame, the salt, the pepper and the soy sauce to taste.

4.The next step for the tofu meatball recipe is to knead all the ingredients that we have gathered in the previous step; If you think a little more thickness is needed, you can add a tablespoon of extra flour. When it is well mixed, we will have to form balls with the dough of the size we want our meatballs to be.

5.With all the balls prepared, before frying them we must coat them in flour. Because the texture will already be wet, we will not need beaten egg, just passing over the flour, it will already be impregnated.

The last step will consist of frying the tofu meatballs, for this we will have to put plenty of hot oil in a pan to fry; when it is very hot we will have to add the meatballs and wait for them to be done on both sides. Then, remove them on a plate with absorbent paper so that it remains with the excess oil and ready to enjoy!
